Weekend Migraine

oh man. I was so ill this weekend gone. Migraine was full on back to 2019 Migraines where I was wanting to hit my head and smash it against a wall to stop the pain.  Still no idea what it was, some kind of 48hr flu i guess, started off on the Friday, i started getting an itchy eye and knew it would lead to a migraine plus being on my period, which i've noticed a serious pattern with. Migraines likely hormone related.  Had to call in sick at work and spent the whole weekend in bed, luckily my Dad had little man over night, wow, I full on just wanted to chop my head off. The migraine was just so bad. I took my prescribed painkillers and they didn't even touch the sides. I was reluctant to take any more and didn't even want to try co-codeamol as I didn't eat for around 48hrs or so, so I knew they would make me feel dizzy and drunk so I just had to ride it through. I spent the Saturday sleeping on and off, I think I counted i had slept for around 20hrs.  Sunday was bett...

Covid Migraine

I tested positive for Covid 6 days ago, i'm so tired and absolutely no energy at all. I survived the weekend with no migraine however now the side affects are wearing off now the migraine starts. Its only a couple of hours in, it's not the worse but we'll see how things go tonight. I've just had 5 days off work so shouldn't have anymore really.  My doctor prescribed me a double dosage of sumatriptan, so they should last a bit longer at least

I really thought i would be better at this

I kept an online journal for 10 years (Live Journal) from when I was around 14 then all the way throughout uni and even past that until I travelled Australia, but I can't hold down a blog about my migraines! I was sleeping on the sofa last night not feeling great (with migraine obviously) and remembered I had this blog so i thought i would try again, although lets be honest my next entry will probably be in a years time.  So it's the 1st June 2022, 2 and a half years since my last entry! Whats changed? Well, i now have a child! He is awesome and super cute.  I've experimented with different medications for the migraines. Whilst I was pregnant the doctors would prescribe me anything stronger then paracetamol for my head, apart from codine, however that had it restrictions so I tried not to take it, I also had a complicated pregnancy so didn't want to create anymore risks. In all honesty thought while I was pregnant I dont recall a single migraine apart from around 5 wee...

welcome to 2020

Hello dearest migraine blog! As with anything i start, i stop, then start again. its 29th January and im on my second migraine of 2020, 2 in 29 days, that's so far 6 days constantly of being in pain. This one is definitely the worst one ive had since the time i started hitting my head and wanting to smash it against a brick wall (happy memories) this one is so bad i had to leave work.  This one is tricky, i think its hormonal, however one difference in my life style is ive started drinking decaff  tea, i know this is such a tiny change however when youre as sensitive as me these small changes can make all the difference. I had a cup monday morning, all day i felt like shit, pain in the eyes, constant yawning, that evening i was in bed at 6.30pm and slept right through till the following morning, so with the mix of hormonal changes and no caffeine that im used to i think this has welcomed the next 3 days.  The pain im experiences with this one is the eyes. My eyes are ...

Daith Piercing

So I got my daith pierced last July 2018, ok not last July but the July before that (told you this blog wouldn't be very grammatically correct) after suffering from 3 migraines in the space of 3 weeks. I remember each one vividly because they lasted their usual 3 day self, each one was caused through sensitivity; a strong smell, flickering lights at work and the freshly damp flat i had just moved into. Completely fed up and desperate i headed to the piercing studio. I was surprised how painless it was, weather i have a higher pain threshold or not i didn't think it was too bad. However every time i knocked it, it would bleed and bleed! Sleeping on it was easy and took less than a month to heal. I didn't have a migraine for almost 3 months. I want to say 3 months but typing those words sounds and feels crazy. Surely it wasn't 3 months? Literally feels so long. I'm pretty certain it was 3 months. I'm not sure if it was a placebo effect, but something was workin...

1 year later

Its been 2 weeks since my last migraine, i'm sat here on the sofa in my new-ish house, alone thinking about when my last attack was and though a little update was needed. so from the intro, yes i have moved house. I was in my flat just over a year, enough was enough. That flat although it had many highs- most importantly being mine and chris's first home together .. everyone has to start somewhere, my parents first lived in a caravan together i believe. With that flat came a lot of dark times, mostly within myself. Stressed every day, stressed beyond explanation, and now i cant even remember why i was so stressed. I hated that flat so much. It had damp everywhere, it was cold, or stuffy, it was loud, always felt anxious when i was alone. Chris was constantly sneezing or he had a blocked nose or sore throat, the damp was messing with his sinuses, and the damp was also a huge factor towards my migraines (i believe) for last year. I have been in my new house for around 6 weeks, ...

A some what brief history

I think i'm going to regret saying a "brief" history in my previous post. The earliest I can remember getting migraines was when I was about 15. I remember I was in high school, if I'm honest i cant really remember whether they were as extreme as they are now or whether they were just headaches. Mostly in lessons such as Art or Maths where I was really concentrating. I never did anything about them, obviously I told my Dad numerous times but now i'm older I can just see that a teenaged girl saying every 5minutes that I've got another headache or migraine probably looked like an excuse not to go to school... which lets be honest I wasn't that popular kid in school, I didn't have a huge amount of friends, I pretty much hated every lesson that involved having some of the popular boys in my class as they would constantly just torment me (ok i swear this is about migraines) back to the point, if I could have a sick day off school I would definitely try i...
